The electronic voting portal for the 2026 Nigerian Bar Association National Elections has closed, with the portal displaying a notice that voting had been closed by the Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association.

A screenshot of the voting portal seen by TheNigeriaLawyer showed the message: “Election Closed. The ECNBA Electronic Voting Portal is currently unavailable. Voting has been closed by the Election Committee.”

The notice further stated: “Thank you for participating in the ECNBA electoral process. Results will be published by the Election Committee when approved.”

Before the closure of the portal, the latest live results dashboard sighted by TheNigeriaLawyer at about 8:37 a.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2026, showed 82,172 registered voters, with 26,184 voters recorded as having voted, representing 31.86 per cent turnout. This means 55,988 voters, representing 68.14 per cent, had not voted as of the dashboard update.

For the office of President, the dashboard showed Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, leading with 12,317 votes, representing 47.18 per cent of the 26,106 votes recorded for the position. Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN, followed with 7,934 votes, representing 30.39 per cent, while Aare Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, had 5,855 votes, representing 22.43 per cent.

In the race for First Vice President, Chief Oghenero Okoro, Esq., was leading with 11,024 votes, representing 44.85 per cent of 24,579 votes recorded. Luqman Adekunle Laoye had 7,044 votes, representing 28.66 per cent, while Obajaja Onimisi Stephen had 6,511 votes, representing 26.49 per cent.

For Second Vice President, Egya Nuhu John, Esq., had 18,496 votes, representing 100 per cent, while Pepple Iniobong Irene, Esq., had 19,200 votes, also representing 100 per cent in the race for Third Vice President.

In the General Secretary race, Afam O. Okeke led with 8,478 votes, representing 33.58 per cent of votes recorded. Dr. Rapulu Ernest Nduka followed with 6,188 votes, representing 24.51 per cent, while Chidi Ezenwafor had 4,560 votes, representing 18.06 per cent. Okey Leo Ohagba had 4,100 votes, representing 16.24 per cent.

For Assistant General Secretary, Aghogho Gladys Okpomor led with 14,312 votes, representing 56.76 per cent. For Treasurer, Esther Ifeoma Jimoh, Esq., had 21,908 votes, representing 100 per cent.

In the Welfare Secretary race, Audrey Chinelo Ofoegbunam led with 14,911 votes, representing 60.43 per cent, while Dr. Prince I. Azubuike led the Publicity Secretary race with 14,686 votes, representing 61.95 per cent. Miss Hadiza Nasir Ahmad led the Assistant Publicity Secretary race with 10,094 votes, representing 40.83 per cent.

For the zonal offices, Chidi Betsy Nnaji led in the Eastern Zone with 10,497 votes, representing 17.32 per cent; Rotimi Komolafe, Esq., led the Western Zone with 14,816 votes, representing 43.17 per cent; while Huwaila Muhammad Ibrahim led the Northern Zone with 13,327 votes, representing 22.91 per cent.

The figures remain provisional until the ECNBA formally publishes and approves the final results.

The closure of the portal comes after a 24-hour voting window which commenced at 7:35 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, following an earlier delay attributed by the ECNBA to an alleged coordinated cyberattack on the e-voting platform.
