The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, has disowned a message being circulated in his name, urging lawyers to update their details on the ECNBA portal in order to vote in the ongoing 2026 NBA National Elections.

In a disclaimer issued on Saturday, Osigwe said the message, which reportedly ended with campaign hashtags, did not emanate from him.

According to him, he did not authorise, approve or send the message.

“It has come to my attention that a message is currently being circulated using my name, urging lawyers to update their details on the ECNBA portal ‘in order to vote today’ and ending with campaign hashtags,” he said.

“I wish to state unequivocally that I did not authorise, approve, or send that message.”

The NBA President urged members of the Association to disregard the message in its entirety.

The disclaimer comes amid ongoing concerns and complaints surrounding the 2026 NBA National Elections, including issues relating to voter authentication, OTP delays, portal access and election-related communications.
