A Lagos State Magistrates’ Court has granted TikTok streamer, Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, bail in the sum of ₦500,000 following his arraignment by the Lagos State Police Command over an alleged confrontation with police officers.

Peller was arraigned alongside his friend, Bello Oladipo, over an incident said to have occurred on July 2, 2026, along the Coastal Road in Lekki, Lagos State.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed that the content creator was arrested and later charged before the court on Monday.

The defendants were arraigned on three counts bordering on conspiracy, resisting public officers, obstruction of police officers while performing lawful duties, and conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace.

According to reports, the court granted Peller and Oladipo bail in the sum of ₦500,000 each, with two sureties each. The court further directed that one of the sureties must be a blood relative, while both sureties must provide tax clearance certificates for the last two years.

In the first count, the police alleged that Peller and Oladipo, both of No. 16, Platinum Road, Lekki Phase 2, conspired on July 2, 2026, at about 8:00 p.m., at Coastal Road, Lekki, to resist public officers, an offence said to be punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

In the second count, they were accused of obstructing one ASP Agbede Victor and three other police officers while they were carrying out their lawful duties, contrary to and punishable under Section 117(1)(2) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The third count alleged that the defendants conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause a breach of public peace by allegedly threatening and filming police officers while they were performing their duties, an offence said to be punishable under Section 168(a) and (d) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The incident reportedly began after police officers stopped Peller for allegedly driving a vehicle without a number plate.

Peller was said to have explained to the officers that he had recently purchased the vehicle, but the officers allegedly rejected the explanation and insisted that he follow them to the police station.

The situation reportedly escalated after Peller began recording the encounter with the officers. He alleged that the officers became aggressive, claiming that one of them pulled his shirt and pointed a gun at him.

Peller and Oladipo, who were both in the vehicle at the time, were later arrested and arraigned.

The TikTok streamer recently attracted public attention after reportedly paying the bride price of his fiancée, TikToker Amadou “Jarvis” Aminata.
