Justice Shinkafi reportedly died in the early hours of Wednesday at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto, after a prolonged illness.
His death was announced in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, by a family member.
According to the family source, funeral prayers for the late jurist will be held on Wednesday at his residence in Gusau by 5 p.m.
Justice Shinkafi served as a judge of the Zamfara State High Court, where he presided over matters as part of the state judiciary.
His passing is expected to be felt within the Zamfara judicial community, the legal profession and among family members, colleagues and associates.
Further details are expected to be released by the family and relevant judicial authorities.
