The Ogun State Police Command has recovered a Lexus RX300 earlier reported missing from the residence of retired Ogun State Television broadcaster, Ms. Kitan Oyesiku, who was killed alongside her security guard in Iyana Agodo Village, Owode-Egba area of the state.

The recovery was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Oluseyi Babaseyi.

Babaseyi said the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, on Monday visited the scene of the incident for an on-the-spot assessment and to personally evaluate the progress of ongoing investigations.

“Further to the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of retired broadcaster, Ms. Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, today visited the scene of the incident for an on-the-spot assessment and to personally evaluate the progress of ongoing investigative efforts,” the statement partly read.

During the visit, Ojajuni inspected the premises and received briefings from detectives handling the case.

The police said the Commissioner reiterated the command’s resolve to unravel the circumstances surrounding the killings and ensure that those responsible are identified, arrested and brought to justice.

“CP Ojajuni reiterated the Command’s resolve to leave no stone unturned in unraveling the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensuring that those responsible are identified, apprehended, and brought to justice,” Babaseyi stated.

The command also confirmed that the victim’s vehicle, which had been declared missing after the incident, had been recovered by police operatives.

“It is worthy of note that the vehicle earlier reported missing from the residence, a Lexus RX300, has been recovered by police operatives during the night hours,” the police spokesperson said.

Babaseyi added that the vehicle had been secured as part of ongoing investigations.

The Commissioner of Police commiserated with the families of the deceased and assured residents of Ogun State that intensive investigation was ongoing, with all available resources being deployed to track down the perpetrators.

Oyesiku and her security guard were killed at her residence in Iyana Agodo Village under unclear circumstances.

The police had earlier said a resident raised an alarm over suspicious movements around the premises, prompting operatives to visit the scene.

Preliminary findings revealed signs of forced entry into the residence.

During a search of the premises, the security guard was found dead at his duty post, while Oyesiku’s body was later discovered inside her apartment.

The command said investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
