The Nigerian Law Society (NLS) has felicitated with the Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria (MULAN) on the occasion of its 17th Annual General Conference holding in Kano State.

In a goodwill message dated June 26, 2026, and signed by its President, Chief Mela Audu Nunghe, SAN, the NLS extended warm greetings to the President, Executive Council and members of MULAN, describing the association as a partner in the advancement of justice, peaceful coexistence and professional excellence.

Chief Nunghe said the NLS, as a professional association for legal practitioners in Nigeria, remains committed to advancing the legal profession, promoting the rule of law, and protecting the rights and interests of all Nigerians.

According to him, MULAN has continued to demonstrate commitment to justice, ethical legal practice and national integration, while promoting the ideals of professional excellence guided by faith and ethics.

The NLS President also commended the theme of the conference, “National Halal Strategy: A Vehicle for Economic Advancement and Sustainable Development in Nigeria,” describing it as timely and forward-looking.

He noted that the theme aligns with national efforts to diversify the economy and take advantage of opportunities in the global halal market.

“The NLS, which advocates for a just and egalitarian society, commends MULAN for contributing to this critical national discourse on sustainable development,” the message stated.

Chief Nunghe further said the NLS draws inspiration from MULAN’s call for unity within the legal profession, adding that the association’s commitment to showing that Islamic ethics and professional excellence can coexist should serve as a guide to legal practitioners.

He assured MULAN of the support of the NLS in its mission to promote national integration and religious tolerance.

The NLS wished MULAN a successful and productive conference, expressing hope that the deliberations would produce outcomes capable of contributing meaningfully to the advancement of Nigeria.
