The Employment and Labour Lawyers Association of Nigeria has announced a call for membership, inviting lawyers with interest in labour and employment law to join its professional network.

In a membership notice released by the association, ELLAN described itself as a platform for some of the finest experts in labour and employment law, offering opportunities for professional networking, knowledge exchange, training, webinars, public interest litigation and pro bono advocacy.
According to the association, membership provides lawyers with access to top employment and labour law experts, as well as expert opinions on developments within the employment sector.
The notice also stated that members would benefit from capacity development programmes, including training sessions and webinars featuring recognised local and international experts.
ELLAN further said members would have the opportunity to participate in public interest litigation and pro bono cases aimed at advancing workers’ rights.
The association noted that its membership cuts across human resources experts, academics, dispute resolution specialists and labour law practitioners, creating a dynamic platform for professional development, networking and career advancement in employment and labour law.
On eligibility, ELLAN said membership is open to lawyers who have been called to the Nigerian Bar and have a keen interest in labour and employment law.
