The Lagos State Judiciary has been thrown into mourning following the death of a serving judge of the High Court of Lagos State, Hon. Justice Josephine Efunkumbi Oyefeso.

Her demise was announced in a notice released by her family, describing her as a beloved wife, mother, sister, steward, friend and pillar of strength whose kindness and warmth touched many lives.

The notice read: “To the glory of God and with complete submission to the will of God, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and sister, Hon. Justice (Dcns.) Josephine Efunkumbi Oyefeso.

“She was a loving wife, mother, sister, steward, friend, and pillar of strength whose kindness and warmth touched many lives.”

The family said condolence visits would be received at the family residence strictly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The notice, signed by Wole, Tish, Tito and Tami, appreciated the public for their prayers, support and understanding during the difficult period.

Justice Oyefeso was until her death a serving judge of the Lagos State High Court.

Members of the legal community have described her passing as a painful loss to the Bench, the Bar and the administration of justice in Lagos State.

May her Lordship’s soul rest in perfect peace.
