The family of a woman who went missing on October 25, 2025, is demanding answers after she placed a distress call hours before she disappeared.

According to her younger sister, Virginia Uwakwe, the victim said she was visiting an unnamed friend in Epe and later confirmed she had arrived. Hours later, she told a friend she was drinking at a location in Epe before making a final call after 10pm, saying she was locked in a room, feared for her life, and might be killed if contact was lost.

Police investigations began days later, with the suspect arrested on November 26, 2025. The family says the suspect gave conflicting statements, first denying knowledge of her, then claiming she left safely, and later alleging she died in a road accident.

The family disputes this claim, questioning how only a severed leg was found over a month later, with no accident records from the police or road safety authorities.

Virginia is now calling on the Nigeria Police Force, to reopen the case and explain what happened to the rest of her sister’s body.
