The family of late Noble Sir (Iduu) Wilfred Akim Ohagba, KSJ, GJP, Iduu Ngaobidi of Ihiala, has announced the dates for his funeral obsequies, inviting the public to join in celebrating the life and times of their “heroic and phenomenal” patriarch.

In an announcement signed by High Chief Sir Chika Kingsley Ohagba, KSJ (Onwa), on behalf of the family, the funeral programme is scheduled to commence on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

According to the announcement, a Vigil Mass and Christian Wake-keep will be held at Noble Sir (Iduu) W. A. Ohagba’s country home in Umuohanu, Umuebike, Ubahuekwem, Ihiala, by 4 pm prompt on February 4.

On Thursday, February 5, 2026, the remains of the deceased will depart Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Mortuary, Ihiala, at 7 am in a grand valedictory motorcade to his country home for lying-in-state.

A Pontifical Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10 am at St Gregory De Great Catholic Church, Ubahuekwem, Ihiala, by His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. Jonas Benson Okoye, Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese. Interment and reception will follow immediately after Mass at Iduu Ohagba’s compound.

Funeral activities and condolence visits will continue on Friday, February 6, and Saturday, February 7, 2026.

A Thanksgiving Mass will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at St Jude’s Catholic Church, Ubahuekwem, Ihiala.
