An impressive gathering of Nigeria’s most respected legal icons, public sector leaders, industry captains, and traditional rulers will converge in Abuja on Saturday, November 29, 2025, for The Creed Annual Dinner and Awards Night, a prestigious ceremony dedicated to celebrating excellence in law, governance, and national service.

The high-profile event, billed to hold at the elegant Tropica Galeria in the Central Business District, will honor distinguished personalities drawn from the Bar, the Civil Service, government institutions, and traditional institutions.

In a statement, the Publisher of The Creed and Convener of the Awards and Dinner Night, John-Austin Unachukwu, Esq., said the ceremony will feature the recognition of outstanding leaders who have made remarkable contributions to the growth of Nigeria’s democracy. He noted that this tradition is consistent with The Creed’s founding mission to spotlight individuals whose work strengthens the rule of law and elevates the standards of professional conduct and governance.

“The Awards Night will also honour outstanding achievers in public administration, governance innovation, legislative excellence, ministerial performance, and national leadership. These recognitions reflect The Creed’s core belief that strong public institutions and ethical governance are foundations of a stable and prosperous nation,” Unachukwu said.

Anchored on the theme Law and Society: Leadership, Infrastructural Development and the Pursuit of Good Governance, the event will focus on the critical role of infrastructure in shaping national development. According to Unachukwu, infrastructure such as roads, hospitals, schools, energy networks, digital systems, and public utilities represents more than government projects. They serve as indicators of leadership quality, governance effectiveness, and the resilience of democracy.

He further remarked that the assessment of public sector performance must include infrastructural development, which remains central to Nigeria’s growth prospects. “In every society, the quality of infrastructure is a visible barometer of governance. Roads, transportation systems, energy supply, water networks, digital connectivity, schools, and health facilities are not just physical assets; they are the structural backbone upon which economic vibrancy, social cohesion, and political stability rest,” he said.

“For a developing country like Nigeria, rich in human and natural resources but burdened by systemic challenges, infrastructural development occupies a central role in shaping the welfare of citizens and securing the future of its fledgling democracy,” he added.

Some of the special dignitaries expected at the ceremony include His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, Governor of Kano State, who will serve as Special Guest of Honour; the Guest of Honour, NBA President Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN; and NLC President Comrade Joe Ajaero.

The Dinner Speaker is Prof. Sebastine T. Hon, SAN, while the Chairman of the Occasion is Augustine Alegeh, SAN. Also expected are traditional rulers such as His Royal Highness Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi Lamido II, Emir of Kano; Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad I (JSC Rtd.), Emir of Lafia; and Obi Prof. Chigbogu Epiphany Azinge, SAN, Asagba of Asaba, among several others.

The Creed Annual Dinner and Awards Night promises an evening of intellectual engagement, national celebration, and a renewed commitment to justice, infrastructure development, and good governance in Nigeria.
