The Nigerian Bar Association Lawyers with Disabilities Forum (NBA-LWDF), under the leadership of Ms. Patience Nkeonyeasua Etumudon, has announced that its 2025 Annual Conference will hold in Asaba, Delta State, from 25–26 November. Themed “Beyond Triumphs: Advancing Inclusion, Impact & Leadership for Persons with Disabilities,” the event is expected to be a landmark gathering for Nigeria’s legal community and the wider disability rights movement.

This year’s conference aims to move discussions beyond celebrating past achievements toward actionable strategies for leadership, sustainable inclusion, and effective implementation of disability rights. Participants will explore key issues including accessibility within the justice system, enforcement of disability rights legislation, the use of technology to remove barriers, and creating pathways for leadership in the legal profession. The programme will feature interactive workshops, storytelling sessions, mentorship opportunities, and pro bono clinics, complementing plenary discussions to ensure a balance of inspiration and practical outcomes.
The high-profile lineup of speakers underscores the conference’s importance. Senior advocates, judges, government officials, policy experts, and disability rights leaders will contribute insights that address both systemic reforms and personal experiences shaping the push for equality.
