The Zamfara State Sharia Court of Appeal has issued a directive ensuring that reserved courtroom seating is exclusively for qualified lawyers.

In a circular addressed to all Registrars of the Sharia Court of Appeal, the Hon. Grand Kadi, Dr. Dahiru Muhammad Gusau (Khadimush-shari’ah), clarified that only licensed legal practitioners are permitted to occupy the designated seats for lawyers during court proceedings.

The directive further stipulates that any person representing a litigant in court (Wukala’u) who is not a lawyer must be seated in the same area as the litigant they represent. This measure aims to uphold courtroom order and reinforce the professional distinction of legal practitioners in judicial proceedings.
