The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has celebrated the remarkable achievement of Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Akpevwe Ogboru, popularly known as Tracta 2, who successfully completed a 35-day solo motorbike expedition from Nigeria to Belgium.

Ogboru began her adventurous ride on August 1, 2025, covering about 10,265 kilometres across two continents and ten countries before arriving at the Nigerian Embassy in Brussels at exactly 12:47 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the National Public Relations Officer for the Comptroller-General of Customs, Abdullahi Maiwada, said the expedition, themed “Ride for Women Inclusivity and Cross-Border Research,” was aimed at promoting gender inclusivity, empowering the girl child, and fostering cultural exchange.

“Her extraordinary journey marks a bold demonstration of courage, resilience, and purposeful advocacy,” the NCS said.

The Service described Ogboru’s feat as a symbol of determination and strength, particularly for Nigerian women breaking barriers in diverse fields. Her arrival at the Nigerian Embassy was met with jubilation, reflecting national pride and admiration for her resilience.

Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, hailed Ogboru’s accomplishment as a “beacon of inspiration,” adding:

“Assistant Comptroller Ogboru’s accomplishment stands as a beacon of inspiration to Customs officers, Nigerians, and the global community. With determination and vision, boundaries can indeed be transcended.”

The NCS noted that her journey not only highlighted inclusivity and research but also enhanced bilateral ties and projected a positive image of Nigeria on the international stage.

As Ogboru continues her return journey to Nigeria, the NCS pledged continued support for initiatives that “promote resilience, innovation, and inclusivity,” while encouraging more Nigerians to pursue bold, nation-building ventures.
