The Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad (retd.), has commended President Bola Tinubu’s leadership style, describing it as transformative and comparable to the impact he made during his tenure as Governor of Lagos State.

In a statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, it was disclosed that the Emir gave the commendation on Wednesday when Tinubu paid him a courtesy visit at his palace in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.

“We were in Lagos during our days at the Court of Appeal. During his term in office as Governor of Lagos, we saw how he turned around Lagos and made Lagos what it is today.

“Your Excellency, you are translating the same into the Nigerian economy, and before you leave office, Nigeria will be great again,” the Emir said.

He recalled Tinubu’s campaign visits to the state and his long-standing admiration for the President’s leadership track record.

“Your Excellency, our president, our friend, our everything. You are welcome back to this hall. It started here when you came in some years ago,” he said.

“Like I said, you were here twice during the campaign.

“We were lucky; the former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, was on an official tour of the state.

“And I told him: Your Excellency, one of the best among them is Tinubu because we are living witnesses,” he said.

The Emir, who also chairs the Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs, pledged continued support for the president and his administration.

Tinubu also expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting the state in solid minerals development, agriculture, and infrastructure.

“I am happy to be back here in Nasarawa and to confirm what the Emir told me during the campaigns in 2023—that I will be back as President of Nigeria. Thank you.

“You are a highly far-sighted individual, a committed Nigerian of high integrity and jurisprudence,” Tinubu said.

He commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for prudent management of resources and for executing key projects without incurring debt.

“We just commissioned an interchange, and he told us he did not borrow a penny for completion,” the President added.

Tinubu further pledged to work harder to deliver the promises of the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at repositioning the Nigerian economy and securing a better future for young people.

“All I have decided is to ensure a change for the future and the best,” Tinubu said.

The President was received at the airport by Governor Sule and later commissioned several projects, including a flyover and interchange, a new state secretariat, roads, farming equipment, and security vehicles.

The event was attended by governors of Kaduna, Imo, Borno, Ogun, Kwara, and Benue states, as well as the Minister of Solid Minerals, Dele Alake, and the Minister of Women Affairs, Imaan Suleiman.
