The children, who were killed on February 1 and their bodies stuffed into a deep freezer, were buried at their family compound in Uga, Aguata LGA, leaving the entire community in a sorrowful and eerie silence.
During a requiem mass held in their honor at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, the Archbishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, Cardinal Ebere Okpalaeke, likened the tragic incident to the biblical story of Cain and Abel, emphasizing that murder has been present since the beginning of humanity.
He described the slain siblings as martyrs, whose untimely deaths serve as a grim reminder of the growing insecurity and evil in society.
The gruesome killing of the children has left the community in shock, with many calling on security agencies to ensure that those responsible for the horrific crime are brought to justice.
