The Police Service Commission (PSC) has appointed CP Moshood Jimoh as the new Commissioner of Police for Lagos State Command, bringing his extensive experience in law enforcement and international training to Nigeria’s commercial capital.

The appointment, announced on Monday, February 17, 2025, by PSC spokesman Ikechukwu Ani, has received confirmation from Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun. Jimoh, who hails from Kwara State, previously served as Force Public Relations Officer from 2017 to 2019 and most recently as Commissioner of Police for the Ports Authority, Eastern Ports.

His career includes significant roles as Deputy Commissioner across various departments, including Airport Police, Finance and Administration, and General Investigation. Jimoh’s expertise is backed by extensive international training, including programs at the United States Institute, China Maritime Academy, and South Korea’s Police Training Institute.

IGP Egbetokun, through Force PRO ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, expressed confidence in the appointment, noting that Jimoh’s “extensive background in communications, administration, and public relations, combined with his operational expertise, uniquely qualifies him to head the Lagos State Police Command.”

A recipient of the Presidential Award for Public Relations Personality of the Year, Jimoh has been charged with strengthening coordination among units, enhancing community engagement, and implementing proactive strategies to safeguard lives and property in Lagos State.
