Sevilla’s Technical Director, Víctor Orta, has outlined why Nigerian striker Akor Adams emerged as the club’s prime transfer target, praising the forward’s unique combination of physicality and technical ability.

Speaking at Adams’ unveiling on Tuesday, Orta emphasized the striker’s proven track record in both Norway and France, particularly highlighting his impressive performances at Montpellier.

“He is a player we have been following for some time,” Orta said. “He’s a very complete striker who has already played in a competitive league like the French league, with a lot of marking and intensity.”

The technical director stressed that Adams offers something different to Sevilla’s current attacking options, noting his unique ability to challenge defenders: “He’s difficult for opposing centre-backs to mark because he’s not only tall. He is agile and mobile.”

Adams becomes the third Nigerian at Sevilla, joining Chidera Ejuke and Kelechi Iheanacho, though reports suggest Iheanacho might depart before the transfer window closes.
