A wedding celebration turned into a horrific scene in Jigawa State when the bride allegedly poisoned the food served at the reception.

The shocking incident has left the groom in critical condition and claimed the life of one wedding guest. The tragedy unfolded in the Jahun Local Government Area of the state.

According to eyewitness accounts, the bride’s actions may have been motivated by a personal grudge. The Jigawa State Police Public Relations Officer, Shi’isu Adam, verified the incident when speaking to PUNCH Online on Friday. He stated, “We received a report that the bride had tainted the food served at the wedding reception, leaving the groom critically ill.”

Two suspects, the bride and another female, have been arrested in connection with the alleged food poisoning. They are currently in police custody undergoing interrogation by the Criminal Investigation Department. “We will do everything in our power to ensure that justice is served,” Adam assured.

While most of the wedding attendees who ingested the contaminated food have been released from the hospital, the police confirmed that one individual tragically lost their life. The identities of the deceased, the groom, and the other victims have not been released by the authorities at this time.

The Jigawa State Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this disturbing event. Adam emphasized, “For now, we can confirm that the incident occurred, and we are working tirelessly to unravel the facts. We urge the public to remain calm and assured that justice will be served.”

As the community grapples with this shocking turn of events, many are left wondering what could have driven the bride to allegedly commit such a heinous act on what was meant to be a joyous occasion. The police have promised to provide more details as the investigation progresses.
