Dangote Refinery, the largest oil refinery on the continent, has successfully exported its first shipment of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to Cameroon.

The export was made possible through a strategic partnership between Dangote Refinery and Neptune Oil, a prominent energy company based in Cameroon.

Alhaji Aliko Dangote, President and CEO of the Dangote Group, emphasized the importance of this development in realizing the vision of a united and energy-independent Africa. He stated, “This first export of PMS to Cameroon is a tangible demonstration of our vision for a united and energy-independent Africa. With this development, we are laying the foundation for a future where African resources are refined and exchanged within the continent for the benefit of our people.”

The partnership between Dangote Refinery and Neptune Oil is expected to have a transformative impact on Cameroon’s energy sector. Antoine Ndzengue, Director and Owner of Neptune Oil, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, stating, “This partnership with Dangote Refinery marks a turning point for Cameroon. By becoming the first importer of petroleum products from this world-class refinery, we are bolstering our country’s energy security and supporting local economic development. This initial supply, executed without international intermediaries, reflects our commitment to serving our markets independently and efficiently.”

The successful export of the first PMS shipment to Cameroon is just the beginning of a long-term collaboration between the two companies. Dangote Refinery and Neptune Oil are working together to establish a sustainable supply chain that aims to stabilize fuel prices and foster economic growth in the region.

This landmark achievement by Dangote Refinery not only strengthens Africa’s energy independence but also showcases the potential for intra-African trade and cooperation in the energy sector. As the refinery continues to expand its operations and forge new partnerships, it is poised to play a crucial role in driving economic growth and development across the continent.
