Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on Wednesday, hosted a meeting with former Inspectors General of Police at the IGP’s Conference Hall, Force Headquarters, Abuja, to discuss strategies for enhancing the effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force.

A statement by Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, highlighted that the meeting aligned with the current leadership’s vision of inclusivity.

The gathering aimed to foster meaningful dialogue and tap into the vast experience of past IGPs for strengthening the foundation of effective policing in Nigeria.

Among the retired IGPs in attendance were IGP Aliyu Attah, IGP Sunday Ehindero, IGP Mike Okiro, IGP Mohammed Abubakar, and IGP Alkali Baba Usman.

IGP Egbetokun praised the contributions of the past police chiefs, noting that their leadership played a crucial role in reforming the Nigeria Police Force and shaping its evolution in line with global standards. The former IGPs also shared their experiences and addressed senior officers, AIGs, and CPs at the Force Headquarters, contributing to the development of future policing strategies.
