Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) of Police, Frank Mba, who oversaw the recently concluded Edo State governorship elections, has implemented a post-election security strategy to maintain peace and order in the state.

The move comes after the successful completion of the elections on Sunday, September 22.

As part of the strategy, DIG Mba has ordered enhanced deployment of security personnel in and around the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) facilities, key stakeholders involved in the election, and other critical infrastructure within the state. The Force has also initiated a Show of Force Exercise to boost public confidence and demonstrate its readiness to swiftly address any potential threats to safety and security.

According to a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Nigeria Police Force has called on citizens to remain peaceful and law-abiding while going about their daily activities.

The Force has also issued a warning against any conduct by individuals or groups that could disrupt the existing peace in the state, emphasizing that it is more prepared than ever to ensure continuous peace in Edo State.
