A young man, identified as Trammania, has pleaded with Nigerians for financial assistance to settle an N400m debt after crashing a rented sports car during an illegal drag race.

The incident, which occurred at Eko Atlantic City in Lagos on Saturday, resulted in multiple injuries and extensive damage.

The accident involved two high-speed cars participating in an illegal drag race on the city’s main road. The race turned disastrous when one of the cars lost control, collided with the other, and crashed into a concrete pole.

Although no fatalities were recorded, the Corvette Stingray 2022 and Jeep Grand Cherokee 2015 involved in the accident were severely damaged.

Recounting the traumatic experience on Instagram, Trammania, who was driving the car that lost control, described it as a terrifying moment, with the aftermath still overwhelming him.

Expressing gratitude to God for surviving the incident, Trammania noted that he now faces damages of up to N400m as a result of the crash.

He, however, appealed to Nigerians for financial support during this difficult time.

He wrote, “Yesterday evening, 14th of September 2024, I watched my life flash right in front of my eyes. It all happened so fast. Still traumatized. Taught it was all over. Still can’t even believe I’m alive. God really loves me & yesterday confirms all doubts…I’m grateful to still be here. I’ll never forget.

“Head jammed, back hurts, face bruised. Couldn’t even sleep at night too much pain, Flashbacks messing up my head already Hospital bills going crazy. Over 400 Million in damages, Corvette Stingray 2022 GONE, Jeep grand Cherokee 2015 GONE, Property damage. Won’t lie I don’t even know where to start from But I’m glad I’m still here God got his plans for me. Still hospitalized, Imma needs all the love & support I could possibly get from the masses.”

The incident has continued to generate reactions from social media users, with many criticising him for his recklessness.

Reacting to the situation in an X post on Monday, former Big Brother Naija housemate Vee tweeted, “You rented cars, you crashed them, didn’t die, and now you owe 400m? If that’s not a freshly downloaded generational curse, I don’t know what is 😭”

Another user, @Gracebal0, wrote, “The best part is expecting people that are not living life recklessly to come to your aid. masses that are broke you want to fund your stupid lifestyle mistakes.”
