The maid of the late Nick Imudia, former Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian e-commerce giant Konga, has disclosed the last conversation she had with her boss before his untimely death was announced last week.

The maid, whose identity has been withheld, shared details of the conversation with a close friend of the deceased, who spoke to Vanguard on the condition of anonymity.

According to the maid, Imudia called her a day before his death and handed her a piece of paper containing five telephone numbers, including that of his brother residing in the United States. The late CEO allegedly told her to keep the numbers, stating that she would need them at the appropriate time. Following this exchange, Imudia reportedly went into the bathroom to take a shower.

The maid grew concerned when she noticed that the shower had been running for an unusually long time. After knocking on the door and receiving no response, she left. Shortly after, a private guard informed her of Imudia’s disturbing condition. Upon rushing downstairs, she found him in a “horrible state.” The maid then returned to the bathroom, only to discover that it was empty, with the shower still running.

Meanwhile, our correspondent learned that Imudia’s family has requested the release of his body for burial. In a statement, the family ruled out suicide as the cause of death, emphasizing that Imudia never exhibited any signs of stress and had never been diagnosed with depression.

As of 11 a.m. yesterday, detectives from the Homicide section of the State Criminal Investigative Department in Yaba, Lagos, were expecting some of the individuals invited for questioning as part of the ongoing investigation into the cause of Imudia’s death.
