Operatives of Tantita Security Services Limited (TSSNL), owned by ex-militant leader Government Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, have apprehended a vessel engaged in crude oil theft in Bayelsa State waters.

The security outfit, working jointly with state security agents, impounded the oil tanker MT Harbour Spirit with identification number 8226272 at an anchorage in Oporoza, headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom.

The arrest on Sunday is the latest by Tompolo’s private maritime security company which was sub-contracted by the federal government last year to check crude oil theft in the Niger Delta creeks.
