The Delta Governorship Elections Petition Tribunal is set to deliver its verdict tomorrow on the petitions filed against the victory of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the March 18 governorship poll.

The Nation gathered that the Justice C.H Ahuchaogu three man panel will deliver judgement in the suits filed by the Labour Party (LP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), and All Progressives Congress (APC) challenging the victory of Oborevwori.

Dissatisfied with the declaration of Gov. Oborevwori as winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of the hotly disputed poll, the three petitioners approached the lower tribunal seeking to overturn the victory of the Governor.

Oborevwori’s rivals include All Progressives Congress governorship candidate (APC) Senator Ovie Omo-Agege; Chief Kenneth Gbagi Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Labour Party’s Ken Pela.

The lower tribunal had dismissed the Labour Party’s petition on grounds that it abandoned it.

However, the Appellate Court in Abuja ruled in favour of the petitioner and ordered a retrial of the petition at the lower tribunal.

All parties involved in the matter had in August adopted their written addresses wherein they argued for or against their respective clients.

Justice Ahuchaogu in August reserved judgement in the petitions by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Justice Ahuchaogu reserved judgement on the Labour Party’s petition on September 26 following a retrial as ordered by the Appellate Court.
