The prosecutor, SP Mireti Wilson, had told the court that Aliyu stole 10 bowls of rice and four bottles of wine at 2.00am on October 29, at Oke – Ayepe in Osogbo. Wilson said that the convict broke into the shop of Mrs Comfort Oke and carted away the commodities. He said that Aliyu was apprehended by security guards, who handed him over to the police.
