Chichi, a finalist from the popular reality TV show Big Brother Naija ‘Shine Ya Eyes,’ has officially threatened legal action against her fellow contestant, Phyna, following a heated argument during the BBNaija Reunion. Chichi is seeking N100 million in damages for alleged defamatory statements made by Phyna.
The argument arose when Phyna accused Chichi of abandoning her husband and children in Benin City, which allegedly led to the death of one of her children. However, Chichi has denied these claims and clarified that the man seen in photos with her in January 2023 was actually her father’s youngest brother, not her husband. She expressed confusion about how people misconstrued their relationship, emphasizing that there is no factual basis for such assumptions.
Phyna also age-shamed Chichi, stating that she is 33 years old and labeled her as a stripper. Furthermore, Phyna shocked viewers by accusing Chichi of poisoning her friend in Cyprus out of jealousy, posting these allegations on Snapchat.
In response, Chichi has taken legal action, hiring lawyers to file a lawsuit against Phyna. The lawsuit demands 100 million Naira in damages, arguing that Phyna’s accusation of poisoning is entirely false, malicious, slanderous, and lacking any basis in truth.
Chichi’s legal team also contends that Phyna’s statements have had severe consequences for Chichi, leading to the loss of several endorsement deals and tarnishing her image.
This legal battle between the former BBNaija contestants highlights the seriousness of the allegations made during the reunion and the potential impact on their personal and professional lives
