The Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators is delighted to announce its first Annual Workshop for Heads of Multi-Door Court Houses and Private Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Centers.

This workshop aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the role which Multi-Door Courthouses and ADR Centers can play in speed administration of Justice. Over time, Multi-Door Court Houses and ADR centres have proven to be highly effective in reducing the backlog of cases in traditional courts, providing more efficient and cost-effective dispute resolution methods, and promoting greater access to justice for all.

Participants of this workshop will have the opportunity to learn from leading experts in the field of ADR, participate in interactive discussions, and gain practical skills and knowledge that can be applied in their professional practice. The topics of discussion include the following: The role of Multi-door Courthouses (MDCH) in the Speedy Dispensation of Justice, Ethical Issues for Dispute Resolution officers and their effect on the Effective Administration of Justice, Enforcement of Settlement Agreements at the MDCH, and finally how Multi-door Court Houses and ADR Centres can collaborate for maximum efficiency in dispute resolution service delivery using the ICMC Volunteer Mediator’s Scheme and other insightful topics.

In attendance will be Directors and representatives of the following Multi-door Court houses: Ondo, Edo, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Kano, Abuja, Kaduna, Gombe, Delta, Rivers, Bayelsa, Abia, Enugu, Imo, National Industrial Court Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre, Federal High Court ADRC, The ECOWAS Commission and GIZ.

The following Private Dispute resolution centres will also have representatives in attendance: Intercede Center for Arbitration and Mediation, The Mediation Place, Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration, Nigerian Chambers of Commerce Dispute Resolution Center, Janada International Centre for Arbitration and Mediation, International Centre for Arbitration & Mediation and Mediation Training Institute.

This workshop will be an excellent opportunity for attendees to expand their knowledge and stay up-to-date with the latest industry developments. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to network with like-minded peers and establish valuable connections that can help them advance their careers.

It is our hope that participants will maximize this opportunity and take back valuable lessons to adopt in their multi-door court Houses and ADR Centres.
