A Warri-based senior legal practitioner, Dr Akpomudiaga Odje, was also on Sunday night abducted from his chambers in the metropolis by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.

However, the human rights lawyer, who was reportedly kidnapped at about 6.30pm on Sunday, at his chambers, adjacent Warri Main Market, regained his freedom from the abductors late in the night on Sunday.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the abduction, saying that the police were investigating the incident.
One of our correspondents gathered that following the police manhunt for the abductors, the Warri-based lawyer was reportedly released Sunday night.
Confirming the incident, one of the abductee’s friends, Omes Ogedegbe, said, “I am happy to tell you that Dr Mudiaga Odje has been released and has been reunited with his family.”
He, however, did not disclose whether ransom was paid for the lawyer’s release.
