*Advises Petitioners To Apply For CTC From INEC’S BVAS Backend To Support Claims

The Spokesperson for the Conference of United Political Parties, and House of Representatives Member-elect for Ideato North and South Federal Constituency, Ikenga Ugochinyere has called on Judges manning various tribunals across the country to be meticulous in deciding election petitions.

The House of Rep Member-elect enjoined the Judges to look beyond the arguments by Counsel in court and look into the IREV platform personally.

He mentioned this in an interview on an African Independent Television show where he shared his thoughts about the 2023 elections.

He said, “And also let me advise Judges who are sitting on election petition because now this people have commited all sort of electoral iniquity and say go to court because they feel that when they come to you, some of you Judges would not do the right thing.”

According to him, if Judges fail to do the right thing, the consequences will be far-reaching on the general well-being of Nigerians and the integrity and sustenance of our democracy.

“If you don’t do the right thing, you destroy not just the judiciary but the electoral process and help them to continue to perpetrate this iniquity.”

He also enjoin Judges to take their time to verfiy claims paid in tribubals from the IREV portal themselves.

He equally advised aggrieved candidates in the just concluded elections to ensure they obtain Certified True Copies of data of the BVAS backend server from INEC in order to establish their cases at the tribunal.
