The Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP for Nasarawa South Senatorial District of Nasarawa State Mr. Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo has got 93,064 to defeated the incumbent senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura in a just concluded National Assembly election.

Returning Officer of the election Professor Ahmed Yakubu Ashuku while announcing the results said Mr. Ogoshi Onawo, defeated Senator Al-Makura who secored 76813 votes.

The results of the election was announced under tight security.
