The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday waded into the crisis between its three governors and the Federal Government over the Naira redesign and swap.

The party is proposing out-of-court solution to the suit between the governors of Kaduna, Kogi and Zamfara states, and the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami.

The case resumes tomorrow at the Supreme Court in Abuja.

The chairman of APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, invited the parties in the case to the party secretariat in Abuja for an amicable resolution of the conflict.

At the meeting were the three governors and the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice.

The Attorney General who arrived from Ethiopia drove straight to the party secretariat, where he was later joined by Governors Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Yayaha Bello (Kogi) and Matawalle Bello (Zamafara).

The chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Kebbi State governor, Atiku Bagudu, and former Zamafara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari also joined the meeting.

The meeting which lasted almost two hours was witnessed by the Deputy National Chairman (North), Senator Abubakar Kyari, the Deputy National Chairman (South) Chief Emma Eneukwu, and the National Secretary, Otunba Iyiola Omisore.

Efforts by the reporters to get reactions after the meeting failed as the party chairman who led the governors and the minister out of his office did not entertain any question.

Adamu said: “Newsmen, you are here again. We are on the same page. You can go.”

On Sunday the party backed the position of the governors on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) policy and advised the Federal Government and the apex bank to honour the Supreme Court order.
