*Orders Substituted Service On FG, Others

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has restrained the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Honourable Minister, Federal Capital Territory, and six other Defendants, from defacing and destroying the master plan of Centenary Economic City Free Zone.

In a suit marked FHC/Abj/Cs/2130/2022, Justice I. E. Ekwo granted the leave in a motion initiated by Centenary Economic City Free Zone and Centenary City Free Zone Company, and filed on the 21st November.

The court restrained the 5th to 8th Defendants from committing further act of incursions and continuing to deface and destroy the master plan Centenary Economic City Free Zone, in any form whatsoever, in respect of parcel land, measuring approximately 1,267,27 hectares located at plot 1271 Wawa District Zone E24, designated as Centenary Economic City Free Zone by the President on 1st September, 2014.

Justice I. E Ekwo, also ordered that the Original Processes and all other subsequent processes in this matter be served on the 1st Defendant by substituted means through the office of the Attorney General of Federation at the Federal ministry of Justice.

The court further directed the parties to maintain status quo ante bellum pending the hearing and final determination of the motion on Notice.

The plaintiffs were given 7 days to serve all processes on the Defendants.

Respondents in the suit are the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Nigerian Export Processing Zone Authority(NEPZA), Honourable Minister, Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Arab Contractors (OAO) Nigeria Limited.

The matter was adjourned to 5th December for Motion on Notice.
