TheNigeriaLawyer, reported that armed men yet-to-be-identified had on Sunday, invaded the St Francis Catholic Church in Owo, and opened fire on worshipers.
Scores of the victims who were injured in the attack are currently receiving treatment in hospital.
Gbemiga, who shared in the sadness of the families, said “the Innocent people left their respective homes in Owo, Ondo State to the Church to worship their God and Creator but met their untimely deaths through the acts of Terrorists.
“The 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) as well as the various States’ Legislations frowns at such dastardly act.
“I condemn, in strong terms, the most unimaginable cruel attack, by the Terrorists, on the members of the Catholic Church, the People of Owo, Ondo State and Nigerians at large.
“It is my prayer that God Almighty will give the families of the Victims the fortitude to bear their irreparable loss.”
