The Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Welfare Committee, Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau SAN has felicitated with the Yenagoa branch of the Nigerian Bar Association on the occasion of its 2022 Law Week.

In a statement sighted by TheNigeriaLawyer, Maikyau congratulated the Chairman, Executive Council and the entire members of the Yenagoa Branch for undertaking what he described as a “laudable initiative to gather Nigerian stakeholders and key players in the legal profession and the Justice sector under one roof to discuss “Building a Stronger Judiciary”.

According to him, the theme of this edition is highly germane to the current state of the nation as he has long been deeply concerned about the state of Nigeria’s judiciary and anxious for every stakeholder to do everything possible to improve the quality of legal services offered to the public.

He stated: “The Rule of Law stands as a vital underpinning for our society. By upholding the Rule of Law, our Judiciary acts in the interest of all Nigerians, securing their personal safety and freedom and safeguarding the integrity of the nation.

I look forward to a robust deliberation and recommendations that will proceed from this event.”
