The former Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association, Lokoja Branch, Liman Salihu Esq, said, It is with great delight that he felicitates with the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Calabar Branch on the occasion of her 2022 Bar Week.

The foremost Doyen Bar on Monday the 4th of April, 2022, began her 2022 Annual Law Week which has as its theme: “We The People: Agenda For National Consensus.”

According to Liman in his message said the theme is a reminder of the fact that, the NBA should be at the forefront of the push for a new Nigeria that will be negotiated on the basis of justice, equity, fairness and equal opportunity for all irrespective of tribe, sex, religious beliefs and greed.

In his words, this theme is coming at a time when our dear country is continually faced with several challenges, ranging from issues of insecurity, hunger, etc and the urgent need to rethink the Nigerian project. There are very many provisions of the constitution of Nigeria that is problematic and the clog in the wheel of our progress as a nation.

This makes this theme very topical and apt. I sincerely believe that this theme would positively influence and propel the necessary national discourse needed for Nigeria’s growth and development.

I once again congratulate all attendees and wish Calabar Branch of the NBA more successful programmes for the good of the bar.

Liman Salihu,
Former Chairman,
NBA Lokoja Branch.
