*Challenges It To Make Public Its Video Of Lawyer’s Unruly Behavior
*Says The Act Violates The Citizen’s Right

The former Chairman of NBA Lokoja Branch, Mr Liman Salihu, has berated the authority of the Nigeria Customs Service, for justifying the wrongful conduct by some of its men against a lawyer.

TheNigerialawyer had reported that a yet to be identified lawyer, in a viral video was manhandled, humiliated in Nigeria Customs Service headquarters in Abuja under the instructions of one of its bosses.

Reacting to this ugly and unprofessional conduct, Liman said it is condemnable.

He said ; “The viral video of the Officers and men of the Nigeria Customs Service assaulting and manhandling a lawyer calls for a great concern and condemnation from all and sundry.

“Without prejudice to what might have transpired at the Headquarters of the Nigerian Customs Service,  “Your Officers and men have acted UNPROFESSIONALLY by pushing, assaulting, shoving and manhandling a lawyer during the course of his legitimate duties to his client”

“This act violates the citizen’s right and it’s outrightly CONDEMNABLE.

“We say no to lawyers and indeed Nigerians harassment by law enforcement agents. Lawyers deserve to be treated with CIVILITY.

“I hereby challenge the customs authority to show us their own video of the lawyer’s UNRULY BEHAVIOUR as alleged otherwise we will conclude that they are trying to CONCEAL the FACT and EMBELLISH the TRUTH by JUSTIFYING the WRONGFUL CONDUCT of their OFFICERS AND MEN. Please be CIVIL!! RESPECT the RIGHTS of CITIZENS!!!

“Having said this, I recommend very strongly that necessary steps be taken against the affected customs officers to serve as deterrent to others who would engage in such unprofessional and condemnable practice.
