The representatives of the joint sports committee of all the branches of the Nigerian Bar Association ( NBA) in Lagos State have elected Anthony Atata to Chair the committee. The branches are Lagos, Ikeja,Epe,Ikorodu and Badagary( absent).

The joint sports committee made up of Anthony Atata- Lagos branch, Adeola Folarin- Ikeja( Secretary), Oludare Emmanuel Adesanya Esq- Epe branch and Richard Mogaji – Ikorodu shall have the duty to promote Inter- branch sports competition among all the NBA branches in Lagos State.
According to Anthony Atata who currently serves as the Chairman of NBA Lagos Sports and Recreation committee, the role of sports and recreation in aiding longevity of life is general knowledge. The role it plays in our mental health is another good reason why we should not hesitate to embrace sports and recreation as an integral part of our law practice life.
The Sports committee in Lagos under the leadership of Anthony Atata has introduced the “One Lawyer,One sports” campaign to encourage all lawyers participate in at least pick one sport.
On another hand, the competitions will also prepare the various branches in Lagos for the sporting events of the AGC which will help escalate the interest in sports among lawyers across the country.
The committee which hopes to co-opt other members is already making plans for football,cycling,Volleyball and Table Tennis events from May 2022.
