The Nigerian Bar Association(NBA), at its ongoing National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, has resolved that all the lawyers involved in recent matters of conflicting exparte orders granted by different divisions of the Federal High Court should be referred to the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee for prosecution.

Speakers on the floor of NBA NEC expressed their disapproval over the incessant conflicting orders by some Judges of coordinate jurisdiction. Members also spoke strongly against members who engaged in the embarrassing activity of abusing the judicial system and due process, by forum shopping.

The said decision of NBA NEC affects all lawyers involved in procuring Exparte Orders in the following Suits:
i. Suit No.: PHC/2183/CS/2021 between IBEALWUCHI EARNEST ALEX & 4 ORS vs PRINCE UCHE SECONDUS & ANOR,

ii. Suit No.: KB/HC/M.71/2021 between YAHAYA USMAN & 2 ORS vs PRINCE UCHE SECONDUS & ANOR.

iii. Suit No: HC/240/2021 between Mr. ENANG KANUM WANI vs UCHE SECONDUS

Recall that NBA-NEC is currently meeting at Abeokuta the State Capital of Ogun State and is expected to address key issues relating to the Bar and affecting the nation in general, and come up with resolutions afterwards.
