The Chairman NBA Welfare Committee Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, SAN was on Tuesday, the 30th of November 2021, inducted as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators ICMC NIGERIA.

The Institute at its 2021 ADR Conference, Induction & Annual General Meeting held at International Trade and Convention Centre, Abuja, admitted Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, SAN and others as Fellows of the Institute.

The event experienced a huge turnout of lawyers, traditional leaders, and others.

Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, SAN, is a popular name in the legal community and the founder/Principal Partner at Y.C. Maikyau & Co.

He’s the current Chairman NBA Welfare Committee. He has served NBA in various capacities.

He graduated from Ahmadu Bello University in 1989.

Y.C attended the Nigerian Law School between 1989 to 1990 and was admitted as Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in December, 1990.

Began his career in Private Law practice with the Law firm of Danladi Bamaiyi and Company, where i rose to become the Head of Chambers.

He resigned on the 6th of August, 2003 to continue practice under the name of Y. C Maikyau and Company, with offices in Abuja and Sokoto, Nigeria.

On the 7th of July 2011, was conferred with the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria(SAN), by the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee and sworn in on the 26th of August, 2011.

Y.C obtained his Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration, in June 2014 from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London, United Kingdom and presently a Fellow of the Institute.
