TheNigerialawyer gathered that this great news was announced by Duru’s friend and colleague, B.A.Munonye.
B.A. Munonye in his statement on Sunday said he visited the home of Paul Duru, at Okwudo, Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, in company of another lawyer, C.C Duru, after the news of the alleged murder.
Munonye, noted that they were astonished to see Paul’s wife cheerful, contrary to what they had expected.
He also said that the wife gave first-hand information on the report thereby debunking the rumour that her husband is no more.
“We met the wife who was, to our greatest surprise, in high spirit.
“She joyfully handed to us first-hand narrative of the whole episode, dismissing the rumour that both eyes of the husband were plucked out and the tongue cut.
“According to her, the tongue is intact, one eye is also intact but one eye suffered a shred resulting from a closest rang shot at the eye line of the upper chin which ripped through down to the jawline of the other side of the chin.
“His vehicle was also set ablaze.
“Barr P. Duru is mentally alert and coordinated and still communicates his mind by writing.
“That he is currently outside the state receiving the required medical attention and spiritual healing from his creator, requesting of us prayers for quick recovery of her husband.”
Recall that Nigerian Bar Association Orlu Branch on Saturday was greeted with an unfortunate story that one of their members was murdered on his way to Okwudor from Atta, Imo State and his car burnt by assailants beyond recognition.
