*Getting To The Root Of The Invasion Will Prevent Further Occurrences

The Chairman Nigerian Bar Association Section on Public Interest And Development Law (NBA-SPIDEL), Monday Ubani, has said that there is need for the Federal Government to constitute a Panel of Enquiry to Investigate the invasion of Justice Odili’s Home.
The NBA-SPIDEL Chairman, made this remark during an interview with TVC as regards the arrest of suspects linked to the invasion of Justice Odili’s home.
He said there’s a need to dig deeper in order to know who is telling the truth between the Attorney General of the Federation and one of the suspects who claimed to have been working with the Ministry of Justice after the Attorney General of the Federation debunked involvement and connection on the invasion.
He commended the Police for apprehending the suspects in order to get more information and bring them to justice.
He then stated that he has been appointed as the special investigator by the Nigeria Bar Association President in order to get to the root of the invasion which was condemned by the NBA and the raid is seen as an intimidation of the judicial arm of government.
He believes that getting to the root of the invasion will prevent further occurrence of the matter.
When asked about his opinion as regards the invasion, he said:
“This is very scary, it means that nobody is safe in this country, the house of the president can be invaded by fake human beings, fake police, fake military officers. It makes us look like an unserious nation.”
He then stated that the government needs to do more and the Nigeria Bar Association has a lot to do being the only pressure group that can fight for the judiciary because the judiciary can’t speak for itself and that will serve as a parameter.
He commended the efforts of various TV stations in ensuring that the matter is brought to the notice of the public and then commended the Nigeria Bar Association for requesting that the Federal Government constitute a panel of enquiry in order to investigate the invasion.
