ESQ Nigerian Legal Awards, on Monday, 7th Nov. held its 2021 Edition.
The event which took place at the prestigious Landmark Event Centre, Oniru, Lagos, had many legal giants in attendance honoured 40 under 40 years old Nigerian lawyers who are making their marks in the Nigerian Legal industry, among other categories of Awards.
In its 11th year, the Learned Silk was presented with the Legal Icon of the Year plaque, to the admiration of the teeming guests.

Maikyau, SAN, who currently serves as the Chairman of the NBA’s Welfare Committee, is a graduate of Law from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and the Nigerian Law School. He was admitted as Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in December of 1990, after which he commenced his career with the law firm of Danladi Bamaiyi and Company, where he rose to become the Head of Chambers. He left the services of the firm on the 6th of August, 2003 to launch the firm of Y. C Maikyau and Company, with offices in Abuja and Sokoto, Nigeria.
Maikyau, SAN, is a courtroom genius, a quintessential Barman and a philanthropist. Under his leadership, the Welfare Committee of the NBA has unveiled life-touching schemes including Law Pavilion deals and Medical Insurance schemes under the current administration in the NBA.
