Sat Guru Maharaj Ji, Founder of One Love Family, has cautioned the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), against taking over the services of the judiciary in Nigeria.

Maharaj Ji, in a statement tagged ‘Nigeria @61 will be blissful’, to commemorate the nation’s independence anniversary, said the present situation where it is the regulatory board that decides the fine for erring media houses or journalists was barbaric.

He said it was a mockery of the constitution where the media groups which are not in the employment of the Ministry of Information to be sanctioned by it.

According to him, the judiciary is capable of handling such issues and situations effectively.

He stated: “This act confirms what many Nigerians are saying that there are people in government who wish president Buhari to fail. Or do we want the media houses or journalists to go on strike? No oga I beg.”

To reduce unemployment rate in Nigeria, Maharaj Ji advised the Federal Government to take steps to recruit three million Nigerians into the police force and army.

“The Federal Government should recruit policemen and women among the high school, polytechnic and university graduates roaming about the city jobless on an entry salary of N250.000 per month.
