The Independence Day tournament of the IBB International Golf & Country Club was a spectacular one. The first part of the tournament commenced on Thursday, September 30, 2021 and rounded off on Nigeria’s Independence Day.

In a rare showing, Lamar Joe-Kyari Gadzama Esq. recorded great success in the event. The Legal Practitioner won the longest drive (Handicap 19-28 division) with a 219 meter shot from the Hole 10 tee box. He capped off his double by winning the Best Nett (Handicap 19-26 division) of the tournament with a score of 69 Nett.
In his words, he wants more lawyers to join him on the fairway and exercise more often. This he claimed is necessary after our tussles in the courtroom and negotiation tables. According to him, he picked up great passion for the game from his father, Chief J-K Gadzama SAN who was the Captain of the IBB International Golf & Country Club as far back as 2005.
Lamar Gadzama who is currently a semi-finalist of the IBB match play recalled that he had captained the Junior golf team during his childhood and had won many accolades but this Independence Day Competition is his sweetest victory yet.
