The Osun State High Court, Osogbo on Tuesday remanded a masquerade custodian, Chief Kayode Esuleke, at the Correctional Centre, Ilesa, Osun State, for allegedly killing a Muslim worshipper, Moshood Salawudeen at a mosque in Osogbo, the state capital.

The court also remanded Esuleke’s son, Ifasola Esuleke and two other traditionalists, Kola Adeosun and Akeem Idowu for their involvement in the mayhem.

Esuleke’s masquerade attacked Muslim worshippers at Kamarudeen mosques in Osogbo on June 27th 2021, where Salawudeen was shot dead and 13 Muslims, including women and children injured.

The defendants, Chief Kayode Esuleke, Kola Adeosun, Akeem Idowu and Ifasola Esuleke, were arraigned for murder, attempted murder, malicious damage, assault, breach of public peace and engaging in a public fight.

All the accused persons pleaded not guilty to the alleged offences against them.

Justice Ayo Oyebiyi who presided over the matter remanded the accused persons at the Correctional Centre and adjourned the case till September 21st, 2021.
