At the Eastern Bar Forum Meeting held in Enugu, Y. C. MAIKYAU, SAN, Chairman of the Welfare Committee of the NBA, on behalf of the EBF presented an award of excellence to Chief Anthony Okoye Mogboh SAN, which was received on his behalf by the Chairman of NBA Enugu Branch. Y. C. SAN said it was important for the Forum and it’s branches, to always attend to the welfare of elderly members of the Forum, particularly those who have distinguished themselves in the legal practice, and carved out a worthy pathway for others to follow.
In encouraging this culture, Y.C. SAN, donated a sum of N500,000 ‘seed money’, to NBA Enugu Branch, to kickstart preparations for the celebration and honor of Chief A.O. Mogbo SAN and other Elders in the Branch who have attained similar feat, as piloted by the Warri Branch of the NBA.
Shortly after the event, Y. C. Maikyau SAN, in company of some members of his Committee and colleagues in Chambers, payed a courtesy visit to the Awardee, Chief Mogboh SAN at his residence in Enugu.
The visit was in fulfillment of Y.C.’s promise to pay a personal visit on the Senior Citizen and Barman who was called to the bar in 1962. The learned silk Y. C and his team were warmly received by the Chief Mogbo SAN and his amiable wife.
Y.C mentioned to the learned Silk that he made the courtesy visit to connect with longevity, excellent spirit, and integrity, which he represents in the legal profession, and the entire country at large. He extolled the virtues of Chief Mogboh SAN and his contributions to the legal profession which are too numerous to mention.He also thanked the Chief Mogbo SAN for the sacrifices he has made for his Collegues, especially those that he mentored in the profession, and that the seed of greatness that he has sown in them will continue to speak volumes.
The learned Silk, Chief Mogboh SAN was overwhelmed by the visit and the number of lawyers who were in the entourage. He thanked and prayed for Y.C and his team, and wished them well.
