Lightfield Legal Practitioners (Lightfield LP), a leading law firm, has announced a Nigerian Law School Support Grant aimed at empowering Student Chief Judges from seven universities across Nigeria.

The grant will benefit student leaders from Bayero University, Kano (BUK); University of Ilorin (UNILORIN); Lagos State University (LASU); University of Calabar (UNICAL); University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN); University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID); and Al-Hikmah University.

In a statement, Managing Partner Balogun Sofiyullahi, Esq., emphasized the firm’s commitment to recognizing leadership, grit, and impact among law students, beyond just academic grades.

“As a law firm, we believe that legal excellence is not measured solely by grades, but by grit, leadership, and impact,” he said.

The grant specifically honors Student Chief Judges who have demonstrated tireless advocacy and mentorship by leading their peers in courtroom simulations and campus justice systems.

“Too often, the spotlight is reserved for First Class graduates. But for us, it’s a paradigm shift, one that also celebrates those who spend their student years in sleepless nights, nurturing both themselves and others in the art of advocacy,” Sofiyullahi added.

The initiative is described as a salute to the journey, sacrifice, voice, and legacy of student leaders in the legal community.

“We see them. We value them. And we’re proud to stand with them,” he concluded.

Lightfield LP’s Nigerian Law School Support Grant reflects the firm’s dedication to fostering the next generation of legal professionals by supporting leadership development and practical legal training among law students nationwide.
