A Human Rights Advocate, Mr. Deji Adeyanju of the ‘Concerned Nigeria’ advocacy group has a petition, Mr. Anthony Kenechukwu Okeke, to the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) on allegations of professional misconduct.

The petition/complaint which is dated the 11th of November, 2020, and made available to ‘TheNigeriaLawyers’ boarders majorly on the event surrounding the criminal complaint initiated by Mr. Okeke.

He alleged that Mr. Okeke has acted in unprofessional respect by filing the criminal complaint, referring to Rule 1 of the Rules of Professional Conduct(RPC).

Mr. Adeyanju who based his petition on Rules 1, 39(2), 47(1), 55 of the Rules of Professional Conduct, which borders on unbecoming actions of Legal Practitioners, Advertisement, Frivolous litigation, and punishment respectively; is asking the LPDC to investigate the issue in question and recommend Mr. Okeke for prosecution for unethical behavior.

Consequently, he urged the LPDC to recommend him for possible prosecution.

Recall that TheNigeriaLawyer reported on the 10th of November, 2020, that Mr. Okeke, an Abuja based Legal practitioner had filed a criminal complaint at the FCT Magistrate Court, Abuja, against 50 persons who were alleged to be promoters of the EndSARS protest, of which Mr. Deji Adeyanju name appeared as number 17 on the complaint.
